Overall it was a good experience, the service and atmosphere of the restaurant were both excellent. We went during happy hour on a Friday with a reservation we booked 1 week in advance. We sat at the sushi counter which is a not very deep, so my knees hit the wall. We received service from a waitress, not the sushi chef. The happy hour has some very tasty choices including the shrimp stuffed basil leaf and mixed vegetable Kakiage. The mayo sauce with the kakiage was also excellent. We found all of the yaki skewers to be a bit bland including the wagyu which had a chewy texture. The miso bass was probably the best but still required dipping in soy sauce. They serve sake, beer and wine and the sake drinks were fantastic including the Red Dragon and Shiso Cool. We ordered nirigi pieces including fatty salmon, fluke and Barnegat Light Scallop (recommended by the waitress). The salmon was delicious. The scallop was good but the crispy potato seemed to overwhelm the flavor of the scallop. Also my partner got the Salmon Avocado Crunch and I got the Fatty Tuna. The salmon looked better with avocado and the fatty tuna was overwhelmed by wasabi. I would probably order a roll ins

We’d been hearing so many great things about Neighborhood Sushi after they opened in Dallas, so we were really excited to finally try it. It definitely lived up to the hype. We came in not knowing much about the menu and honestly had no idea what to order. Our server, Jackie, was incredible. She knew the menu so well and took the time to ask what kinds of flavors we liked before making recommendations. We ended up telling her to surprise us, and it was the best decision. Every dish she brought out was amazing, and you could tell she put thought into the order of everything. She would check in every so often to see how we were enjoying the meal and ask if we were in the mood for something lighter or something a little richer before choosing our next dish. It honestly felt like she was curating the entire experience for us, and it made our first visit so memorable. And the food… wow. Every single bite was absolutely delicious. Everything was fresh, beautifully prepared, and packed with flavor. We kept saying, “This might be our favorite dish,” until the next plate came out. My new favorite sushi spot by far. The rolls were delicious and fresh and the perfect portions. The ginger was the bestttt flavor. I loved everything about this place- down from the warm hand towels to the extensive service. This place will definetely be seeing me very often. I can’t wait to come again!

Every touch point was so thoughtful and the food was incredible. I really enjoy the intimate atmosphere and how this concept has integrated authentic connection into the food. This would be a fantastic first date spot!!

Casual and friendly sushi restaurant in shops of highland park. The main entrance is through the east parking lot. Drinks were delicious, all sake based (not a full bar). The nigiri were very tasty (the rice was v flavorful) and even featured a section for vegetable nigiri. Handrolls were shaped like a taco rather than cone shaped, accommodating more rice and fish. Their tempura was perfectly fried and had two great dipping sauces, one the traditional with daikon radish and the other a spicy aioli. The yellowtail scallion roll was amazing - served with ponzu sauce. Desserts were also unique and delicious, both the mochi donuts and super fun kakigori! Definitely going back!!
